Ever since I have received my Nostalgia Electrics Ice Cream Maker I have been having a blast using it! I have told you about my Mint Chocolate Chip and my Strawberries and Creme ice cream. I have been trying to figure out what I can do that would be just as wonderful.
Then I remembered a delightful ice cream I had a few years ago. The Popo and I were at a reenactment (civil war) and it was hot. Next thing I know- with much plotting and I honestly don’t know what else, a giant bucket of ice cream showed up! However, it was not what we thought. We thought is was a giant bucket of Vanilla. Nope- Pineapple! I would of never thought of pineapple ice cream but it was heavenly! Since then I have been wanting some and now with my ice cream maker- I had to have some!
It turned out way easier and tastier then I imagined! I was really happy with this and it is quickly becoming a family favorite. Here is how you make it:
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 12+ oz pineapple juice
- ice
- rock salt
- In your ice cream maker bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well.
- Let chill for about 20 minutes
- Place in your mixer and let mix until done! (with the Nostalgia Electrics Ice Cream Maker it will take about 30 minutes
*the amount of Pineapple juice you use will depend on how much of the flavor you want to come out. I would start with 12 oz and go from there)
That is it! Nice and simple and a perfect treat for a summer day!
Now- What should I make next? Any Suggestions or requests?
I need an ice cream maker now, after seeing all of your delicious creations!
I love homemade ice cream! I really wish we had an ice cream maker. May have to borrow my parents!
