New Year, New Goal

025

Happy New Year! I know I am a few days into it. Better late than never right? It has been a crazy few days though. My router had a virus, then I was doing a lot of preparing for family, then family came out for the day. Today I am trying to do a bit of catching up before we return back to school.

Last year we had some amazing things happen to us. Buying a house is the most major thing though. Even though it has it’s flaws, it is still our house. Another good thing is, my blood pressure has gone done a lot. That is a major thing for me. I hate taking medicines so if I can get off of the one I am on, I will be happy. We did a lot with scouts, Little Miss started riding lessons. I also landed one of my dream products- a kitchen aid mixer. God definitely has blessed us over the past few years and I can not wait to see what he has in store for us this year.

Now. I hate to say it- you are not going to see word of the year here, or even a resolution. I don’t do those because to me- I would be setting myself up to fail. So here are some fun things we hope to do this year. First and most importantly- fix up this house! But you see enough about that. I also plan on being in His word more by doing some bible study’s. I am doing one right now that is reading through the book of John and I will be joining another one with my husband and a few other couples and our church starting at the end of January where we read the book “The Story”. Even the kids have their kid version and will be going through it during Sunday school.

And since I am on the mission of removing my medicine, I have started exercising again. Tomorrow I will be starting on this 30 day Challenge where you hold the plank position (never done it before) for so long, then increase your time as you go on. Once I do that I found a 31 day squat challenge that I will be adding to my planks. I also plan on using the eliptical and my zumba DVD. I wish I knew someone close by to do these with to keep me accountable. Maybe I will blog about it! Please know that this isn’t necessarily to lose weight (that would just be a bonus) but to get healthy and be able to quit taking medicine.

As to my plans for the blog- I will be blogging still but it will be more of what you have been seeing. Our home remodeling, our life, and recipes. I still plan on changing the name but can’t seem to find one that fits. I was looking at using “Baseball, Horses, and Guns…..OH My!” but someone pointed out that it would make a really long URL and that the “guns” part may scare people off with everything going on. So back to the drawing board!

Last but not least- my photography. I am starting to look into some local colleges to see what I can find for learning more and maybe even finally getting my degree. As if I have time for that! But I need to. For myself. I also plan on getting out more and using my camera. I hope to add a lens or two to it and to get a better tripod while I am at it!

Whew! Lots planned now lets see how we do!

What do you hope to achieve this year?

Can’t wait to see what you do in the New Year! And love the Bible Studies. Our church doesn’t do any and I find myself really wanting to do a study with other women. Thought about starting one, but well I think I’m a bit too busy to head one up!

Yeah I do not have time to head one up either. They asked the Popo and I if we could host a small group again but just coming up with a time is not easy. Luckily one of our neighbors is doing a small group bible study on one of the Popo’s night off.

My goal for this year is just to try to have a more positive out look on everything. Hard to have good things happen to/for you if you always have a negative out look on everything! So this year I hope to be more positive! Good luck to you!

That is a good goal to have! I am trying to stay focused on the many blessings we have had. Sometimes it is hard to do.

You can do this! My goal for 2015 is to NOT complain about the weather on social media. It will be a big step for me, since I complained most of last year about it.
