#Project52Photos Week 10- Self Portrait

Whimsy & Hope by Sarah Halstead

I can not believe another week has gone by! Time flew this week but it was an easy week at work (school). All week long I thought about this week’s theme of Self Portrait. I hate having my picture taken. So much so, that when we put together a special book for my parents my sister had a hard time finding any pictures of me. So most of my section of the book was my kids.  Normally if you do find a picture of me chances are it is either of me covering my face or flipping you off. No I am not really that mean- but the urge is there. So I would like to thank the hosts  Marvelous MommySarah, and Angie for making me step out of my shell. I almost didn’t do it. I was really tempted to post a picture of my shadow. But I thought I would be a good photographer and share this one:

First- feel lucky- I never post pictures of my kids. I am a bit protective like that because of who my husband is. Second- yes- I got in front of a camera. I wish I had my hair done better and maybe some make up. But this is me- after a long day of work with my daughter enjoying the beautiful evening.

And yes- I survived. Now quickly moving on to this weeks theme- TEXTURE! Hmmmm any tips or hints on this one?

Great self-portrait! I wrote a whole post last year about getting in front of the camera more so our kids would ‘know’ us. Seems like the moms end up behind the camera more often than not. Can’t wait to see what you do for texture. I think that’s going to be a fun theme.

It’s so important to get photos of ourselves, it can be so hard sometimes, but we need pictures of us and our life to remember. I am not sure why you aren’t in front of the camera more, you are beautiful! Do it more and you’ll become more comfortable!
