Stir Fry with a twist #DCD #DoveChocolateDiscoveries

Sorry this isn’t one of my best pictures. I honestly had no intentions about blogging about this. It was just to good to not share with you!  I did a post a while back about Dove Chocolate Discoveries. Well after spending lots of money buying their products I thought I would sign up. And that has been the best decision I have made! I am getting to experience all new ways of enjoying cocoa. Including in every day cooking.

Introducing our signature spices. From Sweet and Spicy to Cantonese these will bring you bold and unique flavors in your cooking. I use the Sweet & Spicy seasoning blend in my sloppy joes, or as a dip, or in chili. Endless possibilities that I would have never thought of using before. But today I want to talk about the Cantonese blend. Now on our recipe site you will find the original inspiration for the stir fry along with many other wonderful recipes for all of our spices and sauces. I did have to do some altering though to make a gluten free stir fry 🙂 Which is where my disclosure comes in- our products are not certified gluten free, while they may not contain gluten ingredients they are processed in a facility that handles other gluten products.

Ok now back to the recipe- this as really easy to do. Let’s start with the ingredients:

  • 1lb beef strips for stir fry
  • 2 tbsp sesame seed oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 4 tbsp Cantonese Seasoning Blend
  • 1/8 cup Teriyaki Sauce (San-J is Gluten Free)
  • Broccoli
  • sliced carrots

So what you do is heat up 1 tbsp of the sesame oil and the 2 cloves of minced garlic in a pan. Add the beef and cook until just done. Set the meat aside, in the same pan add the other tbsp of sesame oil and your broccoli and carrots. Saute until they are tender. Add meat back in, add 4 tbsp of Cantonese Seasoning Blend and 1/8th cup of Teriyaki Sauce. Cook on a low-med heat for about 5 minutes. Serve with rice.

And that is it! This is one of those you can mix it up. Maybe do chicken on day, add more teriyaki sauce to give it more liquid if you would like. If you like peppers you can add those, maybe some water chestnuts. I could go on with all the possibilities!
