This week was hard. Seriously last week, I was determined. I need to start on my healthier me aspect. I need to focus on me. I know that sounds selfish and yes all these sentences are starting with “I”…….. Every now and then it is ok to focus on YOU though and that is what I am trying to do.
The exercising did not happen as much as one would like. I got on the elliptical once. Did some sit ups this week and tomorrow I get to go on a field trip with my son on a day long nature/science hike. I wish I had a step tracker to see how far I walk tomorrow. I have seriously got to find some motivation this week for that aspect of things.
The diet- I created a dinner menu for the week and it helps a lot. I started using the My Fitness Pal up and have learned that my enemy is snacking. Breakfast was mostly skipped, once and awhile I would have a breakfast burrito. And I consumed a lot of calories with my coffee because I have to have milk and chocolate syrup in it. But this was my dinner menu:
- Saturday– Chili
- Sunday– Easy Chicken Bake (recipe found on facebook) and Baked Cauliflower
- Monday– Brats, Baked Beans and a version of this Cucumber Salad
- Tuesday we had left overs
- Wednesday– Broccoli Alfredo Tortellini from Spicy Southern Kitchen
- Thursday (today) will probably be another left over night since we have a meeting at the school.
- Friday– Tacos
My son made me laugh last night as I was preparing the broccoli. He asked “why are we suddenly eating all this healthy stuff”…. So apparently I am doing something right if my kids are noticing! However, diet alone is not optional. I weighed myself today and now weigh 189 🙁 I am suppose to be losing weight, not gaining it!
My goals for this coming week- find an exercise routine that I can stick with and continue eating healthier dinners.
