It has been such a crazy year! I went back to working part time- It works out great because I don’t have to make a gazillion trips into town. Still doing my hustle of chocolate with The Cocoa Exchange and that is going good. Now the goal of getting back into blogging.
There is one thing this year that is major. The Popo and I celebrated 15 years! I have been told we are not normal but I am ok with that. We celebrated our 15 years at a resort a friend bought off of Lake Winnibigoshish in Minnesota.
The Pines Resort is in the Chippewa National Forest, off of the 5th largest lake in Minnesota. It has actually been there since 1912! But of course over the years the cabins have been updated and are currently being updated by the new owners. They have big plans for this place and I can’t wait to see what they do to it over the next few years! I know they are talking about doing some fishing competitions for kids next summer. They have boats, canoes, and kayaks you can use. There are also a ton of roads/trails to explore.
The amount of wildlife there is amazing. I am told you can see black bears and porcupines just wandering around. We did not get lucky enough to see those since we were only there for a few days. But we did see a bunch of birds and bald eagles. It sounds like during the winter you can see the eagles even more. This place was so surreal and peaceful. It was really hard to leave. Just the beauty, the silence. We plan on taking our kids up there again this summer so they can enjoy it. Maybe I will capture my black bear and porcupine then! I also want to go during the winter- I hear the ice fishing is the best, and wolves just walk out on the lake- then my dream photo shot- The Northern Lights. I could go on about this place- it was just absolutely amazing.
So if you need a family getaway I highly recommend checking out The Pines Resort. It was so nice to just get away from the Chaos that has become our lives lately. I have a feeling we will be there a lot over the next several years!
~I am not being paid for this post. We enjoyed some time there for our anniversary and the owners do not even know I am writing this. These are my honest thoughts and opinions. The photos in this post were taken by me- all rights are reserved- if you wish to use any photo please message me.~
