We are getting into fall, back to school, soon Christmas… Where is this year going? Yikes! Now that I stay at home full time with the kids again I have been working on building a business of my own. I have mentioned The Cocoa Exchange in the past. I am mentioning it again because I am looking to start building a team. But not just for myself- to pass on the blessing that has been given to me.
This week was hard. Seriously last week, I was determined. I need to start on my healthier me aspect. I need to focus on me. I know that sounds selfish and yes all these sentences are starting with “I”…….. Every now and then it is ok to focus on YOU though and that is what I am trying to do.
The exercising did not happen as much as one would like. I got on the elliptical once. Did some sit ups this week and tomorrow I get to go on a field trip with my son on a day long nature/science hike. I wish I had a step tracker to see how far I walk tomorrow. I have seriously got to find some motivation this week for that aspect of things.
Yep. There. That is right there is where I want to be. I would be in the pool though (I have a fear of open water). School has started and so has the chaos. So escaping to a place like that would be heavenly right about now.
So it has been a while since I have done a random post. My kids started a new school this month. We were having way to many issues at their other school so we had to transfer them. They are loving it though. They have made new friends and have told us they are glad for the change. But with school- comes scouts, piano lessons, and then some. Let the games BEGIN!
Also with that change in school came a change of jobs for me. I sadly had to resign as the special education para. It was really hard for me to do. I cried! But I will have the opportunity to sub for them so I wont miss out completely. Instead I am going to focus on blogging and my Dove Chocolate Discoveries business and my photography! I already have a fun Gift Guide lined up for you for the holidays so I am excited for that.
The weather has been gorgeous! I mean 70 degrees gorgeous! It is giving me spring fever and then today I found these beauties peaking up from the ground! We did not do any of the landscaping so I have no clue what will come up and when. But I was beyond excited to finally see some color! So it got me thinking. With the weather warming up we can start up on the house updates! Yay!
I have talked a lot about the work that needs done inside. Which is a ton of work. But what is the point of updating the inside if your curb appeal is, well non existent? So now to start planning and plotting. Not to mention we need to start plotting out our vegetable garden. So I thought I would show you our desperate need for an outdoor make over (please keep in mind- this house sat empty for 7 years.
It has been awhile since we have given you guys an update! This past month was kind of interesting. We pulled off more paneling off the walls. We also went around the windows and added some new seals to them. Actually- I don’t know what you would call it- my husband put strips of something inside them to help fill in the gaps. That has helped some. We also covered the AC unit that sticks out the kitchen (only form of AC we have for now). We hung some of the curtains I made 2 years ago in the kitchen and laundry room.
So this post is going to be short. I will be honest this week did not go well. I did not do any cardio because I have been sick with a cold all week. I am slowly starting to get better so hopefully this week I can really kick up the cardio.
More like it has been that kind of week! But it has also gone good! I took my healthiness to the next level and really started adding more cardio to the mix. But to help keep myself on track I signed up for MyFittnessPal last sunday. Here I have been able to keep track of my exercise and actually see what I consume. I have learned a lot from doing that. The biggest thing is- I do not eat normal- and when do eat- the foods are rather entertaining. But regardless I have stayed under my 1400 calories a day limit that it says I should stay under. I am going to be honest now- My weight last week was 159lbs. My goal weight is 130lbs. But I didn’t lose any either, I weighed myself again today and still way 159lbs (well 159.6 to be exact) and I measured my core-just below the belly button and I am at 37 1/2″ so that needs to go away to0. Yes at first I was mad. But then I realized- I am just starting- it will take time. I need to stick to it.
Ok so I started off this week a bit– Off! I did my day of rest on the wrong day and I did some wrong times on my first week. I did 20 seconds for 3 days then 30 seconds for 3 days then rested on day 7… Opps! SO the first thing I did was get myself back on track and wrote down all the times in my day planner. Here is how it went:
Whew! The above picture shows how I feel right about now! One thing I am really starting to crack down on is my health. I have hypertension and I hate taking medicine. Absolutely hate it. So I started using lavender oil and that has helped to bring it down. But I want to go one step further- and start exercising and eating better than what I already do (in other words not eat as many sweets!).
Happy New Year! I know I am a few days into it. Better late than never right? It has been a crazy few days though. My router had a virus, then I was doing a lot of preparing for family, then family came out for the day. Today I am trying to do a bit of catching up before we return back to school.
